Why Aero India 2017?

India's sheer size, geo-political standing and growing military alliance with the United States make it a prime market for American companies looking to export aerospace and defense products.

With spending on the rise, a new openness to foreign direct investment is shifting the industry dynamics of the region, giving some preference to private, indiginous manufacturers and suppliers, opening new channels for global supply-chain partnerships and inviting overseas interests to invest in local operations. The country has budgeted $100 billion for defense acquisitions over the next five years — including a 15% increase in 2016 over 2015. At the same time a rapidly growing economy is fueling India's civil aviation market, the fastest growing in the world. At a pace of 15% per year growth in air passenger traffic, India is projected to be the third largest civil aviation market by 2020.

Aero India 2017 capitalizes on this momentum to present a world-class showcase of and for the Indian aerospace and defense industry. Key to its pedigree, the event is organized by the Indian Ministry of Defense and fully supported by the government of India. If you are looking to grow your business in this part of the world, you can't afford to miss this show.

Why Exhibit in the U.S. International Pavilion?

India is the world's second largest importer, and the United States is one of the country's top suppliers, notably in aerospace and defense. In fact, as recently as 2014 America had replaced Russia as India's top defense equipment supplier, and with the sale of $3 billion alone worth of Apache and Chinhook helicopters in 2015 (India spent a total of $4.3 billion on defense imports that year) is aiming to regain that advantage.

As the Indian government continues to buy American and relax formerly restrictive procurement policies in conjunction with a major modernization drive, suppliers should expect the trending preference for U.S. aerospace technology and services on the defense side to influence commercial acquisitions, too.

To help U.S. exhibitors capitalize on stronger alliances, market trends and the concentration of buyers at Aero India, Kallman Worldwide is representing the show in the United States, and for the fourth consecutive edition we will organize the U.S. International Pavilion. Located in Hall E, the Pavilion will be surrounded by the largest and most influential Indian aerospace and defense companies, ensuring high visitor traffic and the extra interest of local leaders. On-site programs and services, including close cooperation with the U.S. Commercial Service to introduce delegations and facilitate targeted business meetings will help ensure you maximize this biennial opportunity to strengthen your competitive position in this fast-growing market.

It's a big show. You gotta go.

Aero India will cover the complete spectrum of the country's aerospace and defense interests. The U.S. International Pavilion will be a primary destination for every serious visitor.

Aero India will specifically address the nation's need to balance its rapidly growing economy with defense preparedness and the opening of defense production to the private sector. If you have long-term goals in India, this edition of the show will be an invaluable source of ground-level intelligence and insight that you're just not going to pick up from a distance.

Aero India presents three core sector opportunities:

Civil Aviation
Growing population + developing economy + big investments in infrastructure = major focus on civil and commercial aviation at this show — and the extra attention of the Ministry of Civil Aviation.

Military Aviation
Modernization is the theme here. The wish list emphasizes:

  • New Technology such as 3D printing for parts, Nano technology, smart materials, AESA radar, infrared seeker and sensor technology
  • MRO infratructure for airframes, engines, rotors, test and ground support equipment

Supply Chain Partnerships
Expansion of the U.S./India Defense Technology Trade Initiative leveraging convergence of our countries' industrial and technological capabilities is coinciding with "Make in India" policies and corresponding incentives for Foreign Direct Investment. In other words, this is a unique moment of strategic opportunity for U.S. suppliers. From sophisticated components to nut-&-bolts hardware, American exhibitors who are prepared to help India modernize from the inside will find eager partners at Aero India 2017.

The 2015 edition of Aero India reported strong attendance and industry participation over a combined indoor/outdoor exhibition space that covered some 108,250 sqm:

  • 644 exhibitors
  • 300,000 visitors
  • 46 delegations
  • 33 countries represented
  • 24 country pavilions

The U.S. International Pavilion is your export advantage at Aero India. Because it presents the highest concentration of U.S. equipment and services at the show, it's a magnet for buyers looking for American quality, innovation and partnership.

In addition to our complete suite of pre-show, on-site and post-show services, capitalize on the extra attention, activities and access we're planning to generate for American suppliers:

  • Participation of U.S. Commercial Service representatives from countries in and around the Asia-Pacific region
  • Anticipated industry briefings with representatives of local/regional utilities
  • DSCA (DoD) works closely with the U.S. International Pavilion to ensure maximum exposure to buyers at the show
  • The Pavilion location is the ideal spot for any company looking to network with local giants such as Bharat Electronics, Hindustan Aeronautics and BEML

I focus on all things media related at Kallman Worldwide, and am so happy to be a part of sharing our story. It's incredible to work with a talented company that truly appreciates hard work and is always willing to go the extra mile. Although I’ve been a part of the Kallman family for 10 years (since I made my first pot of Pavilion coffee at Farnborough 2006), I am excited now to have a real place in the company, and to help our community grow through content marketing and social media. You’ll see me on-site with a Red Bull in one hand and an iPhone in the other — but when I’m not hashtagging around the world, I enjoy DIY projects, attending concerts, weekends down the Jersey shore and a little too much retail therapy.
