The host and organizer of the international mega event PERUMIN - Mining Convention is the Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers (IIMP, by its Spanish initials), a private nonprofit association that for 68 years has aimed at working jointly with different private and public organizations to help to create forums for dialogue, where actions to achieve the desired sustainable development in the country are created and implemented. The institute is also aimed at promoting and performing activities that contribute to the professional and technical development of its members in mining-related topics. 
The IIMP organizes important local and international events, such as PERUMIN -Mining Convention, ProEXPLO, the International Mine Management Conference, the International Community Relations Conference, the “Jueves Mineros” Conferences (mining conferences held on Thursdays), among others, which allow the interaction between its members, other professionals and key players in the sector. It also prepares specialized publications such as the “Revista MINERÍA” (Mining Journal).
