Why the Dubai Airshow 2017?

Welcome to the future.

“The UAE is leveraging its geographic location and proximity to international trading routes to play a central role in the global travel and aviation markets.”

That observation from the U.S. International Trade Administration is backed up by big numbers. “According to the UAE Civil Aviation Authority, the country’s aviation sector alone is valued at $80 billion, employs over 250,000 direct hires and approximately 225,000 indirect jobs, and accounts for nearly 15 percent of the country’s GDP.”

Forecasts anticipating 200 million passengers a year by 2030 are at the center of monumental infrastructure projects anchored by the 145-square kilometer Dubai World Central Aerotropolis, promising to sustain spending in the commercial sector for years, even decades to come.

The UAE also ranks among the world’s top 15 military customers with a nearly $25 billion annual defense budget. With the launch of the new UAE Space Agency in 2014 and a vision to reach Mars in 2021 to coincide with the fledgling nation’s 50th anniversary, the UAE has established itself at the center of the 21st Century aerospace universe.

No wonder the Dubai Airshow has become a “must-attend” marketplace on the industry’s international trade event calendar. Building on a record-breaking show in 2015 (more exhibitors and visitors), organizers F&E Aerospace have announced a 2017 program to further showcase the state-of-the-art and anticipate trends in all phases of the industry. Notable new features include the UAV Summit and Airport Solutions areas. The UAE Space Pavilion, which debuted in 2015, has grown, and a display of cargo handling equipment reflects the region’s rapid growth as a freight hub (see details below).

Why Exhibit in the USA Partnership Pavilion

In its race to excellence in aerospace, the UAE’s “not-so-secret” weapon is the United States.

As the largest customer for U.S. products and services in the Arab world, and a Top Five global market for U.S. aerospace exports, the UAE is building its big future with a wide scope of dedicated American trade and investment partners, innovative technologies and skilled professionals. In other words, you’re not only welcome at the Dubai Airshow, you’re expected.

As the official U.S. representative and organizer of the USA Partnership Pavilion for more than 20 years, Kallman Worldwide is uniquely positioned to help you capitalize on America’s export advantage in the UAE to stand out at this show.

  • Start planning now to build turnkey or custom space in some of the highest traffic locations on site.
  • In addition to anticipated Day 1 visits from numerous dignitaries and officials from the U.S. and Dubai, including the entourage of Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Pavilion will host influential buyers, decision-makers and thought-leaders throughout the week.
  • Take advantage of our close cooperation with the U.S. departments of Commerce, Defense and State to gain market insights in advance of the show that can help you capture more attention and interest on-site.
  • PR and media support along the way will amplify the collective U.S. presence and spotlight your specific news.

Big things happen in Dubai

Dubai is set to build the world's largest airport, accommodating up to 220 million passengers per year, as the oil-rich Emirate seeks to solidify its position as a global aviation hub.

The Dubai Airshow is focused on three core sectors of Aviation; Commercial, Defense and Business/General Aviation. The 2017 show will return with a number of new features that will bring this event to another level.

Commercial Aviation
Commercial aviation continues to surge ahead in the Middle East, driven largely by the major gulf carriers. These airlines, among others, placed strong orders at the previous Dubai Airshow and have committed to further developing their fleets and routes contributing to the growth of the Middle East as the world’s most important aviation region.

Defense
Military aviation is continuing to be an important focus in the Middle East, resulting in increased spending as well as a larger footprint from both local and multi-national companies. With huge advances in military technology and new weapons systems entering the market, visitors to the Dubai Airshow can expect to see a significant military presence at the show.

Business/General Aviation
Business aviation in the Middle East continues to see strong growth with both movements and the number of aircraft registered increasing steadily. The rapidly growing economies of the GCC combined with Dubai’s accelerating expansion in the lead up to Expo 2020 are helping to cement business aviation as a cornerstone of the Middle East aerospace industry for years to come.

Airport Solutions
Covering the full spectrum of the industry, Airport Solutions will encompass a dedicated exhibition area along with a high level conference. This event will be of particular interest to civil aviation authorities, regulators, airport operators and owners.

UAV Summit
The UAV market in the Middle East is growing rapidly - both in terms of the number of UAVs operating and also the increasing investment in manufacturing. The UAV Summit at the Dubai Airshow will feature conference sessions with industry leading experts, flying displays & demo area as well as the UAV exhibition zone.

Space Pavilion
Space exploration is a national priority for the UAE and this new feature at the Dubai Airshow has been developed to support the government’s strategic objectives of building the region’s space sector. In addition to the exhibition area the Space Pavilion will host a two-day forum.

Cargo Zone
The Cargo Zone will bring suppliers from across the air cargo supply chain together in one location to discuss trends, challenges and the future of the industry. Airlines, airport authorities, freight forwarders and expediting companies along with the vendors will attend this focused exhibition area and one-day conference.

My love for the international events industry started just over 10 years ago. I came from the freight forwarding business where I was working on big shipments for trade shows.
