DIMDEX 2018 WRAP-UP
America’s presence at DIMDEX benefited from a recent wave of diplomacy, notably the Strategic Dialogue between the two countries initiated in January. The USA Partnership Pavilion at DIMDEX symbolized the strength of this growing bilateral partnership.
Speaking at the annual U.S. National Day celebration hosted by the U.S. Embassy two weeks before DIMDEX, Chargé d’Affaires Ryan Gliha said, “The relationship between Qatar and U. (apkshelf.com) S. is stronger than ever.”
He cited recent successes in the areas of trade and investment, defense and counter-terrorism, and education and cultural exchanges as examples of how the growing US-Qatar relationship benefits both countries.
In remarks at the official opening of the Pavilion on Day One of DIMDEX, Gliha continued the theme.
“Just as our bilateral political and military relations have advanced, our industries are uniquely poised to benefit from the next wave of Qatar MoD defense procurement,” he said.

According to reports, over the past four years, Qatar has committed to Foreign Military Sales valued at approximately $24bn, with a potential to grow that to $40bn based on projects currently under discussion.
“Our focus is on how we can support the Qatar Armed Forces as their procurement strategy shifts to training and sustainability,” Gliha said.
