In October of 2017, a $6.5 billion dollar defense budget was passed for 2018. It is believed that spending by the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO), the military organization currently controlling the national administration, will continue to increase over the next few years. In addition to spending to maintain military readiness, the Thai government is dedicating a sizable portion of its budget to securing its borders, curtailing human trafficking, combatting the illicit drug trade, and providing humanitarian assistance during natural disasters. Defense & Security 2019, the tri-service defense & security exhibition being hosted in Bangkok, is your chance to showcase the next generation of products that will keep Thailand safe and prosperous for generations to come.

The Changing Need of Defense.
Today the demand for international security has risen to new heights. Terrorists can strike anywhere at any time and the ability to protect citizens, businesses and governments from criminals has become more urgent than ever.

Static Display: Exhibitors can exhibit a wide variety of defence and security equipment. Previous items included everything from radio jammers, weapons systems, guns, missiles, tanks, UAV’s, armoured and transport vehicles, vessels, satellites, telecom and a wide range of state-of-the-art electronic defence technology.

Technical and Special Seminars/Presentations/International Conferences: Each edition of the event allows for 20 Seminars and Conferences to be given by exhibitors and top international experts. All have proved of great interest and are particularly popular features of the show. Most attendees are invited by the Thai Ministry of Defence as guests, with particular relevance to topics selected by the organizing committee.

Live Demonstrations: These are arranged by contacting the show organizer a minimum of 7 working days before the show begins. All demonstrations are conducted under the supervision of the Thai Ministry of Defence. Attendees can be invited by the Ministry or the exhibiting company.

Networking Opportunities: These will include the Opening Ceremony, VIP tours, daily Executive and Official Luncheons, Cocktail Reception, Government-to-Government Meetings and Government-to-Business Meetings.

The U.S. Commercial Service is the trade promotion arm of the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration.
