Project Manager

We are presently seeking an experienced project manager in our Waldwick, NJ office to be responsible for planning and managing the successful and profitable execution of assigned shows, working on multiple projects simultaneously. This is a highly visible position with significant opportunity to influence business outcomes. Over time, incumbent may also be responsible for identifying, evaluating and recommending potential new projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Responsible for project planning, inclusive of sales, operations (exhibitor services), marketing, and finance for each project.

  • Manage and set goals for a small cross-functional team (Sales, Exhibitor Services, Marketing, Admin.) for each tradeshow under purview.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with Show Organizer and other stakeholders, including U.S. Embassies and U.S. Dept. of Commerce.
  • Negotiate agreements, space and terms with Show Organizer.
  • Work with assigned Sales Associate to oversee the fulfillment of the sales plans including evaluating additional revenue sources and ensuring sales deadlines are met.
  • Oversee administrative functions and provide guidance to support staff in creation and dissemination of sales packages and graphics.
  • Utilize project management and event database software with proficiency.
  • Work with Exhibitor Services on layout and design of Pavilion; set deadlines and oversee communication to exhibitors.
  • Assist with creating additional sales opportunities for other departments. • Oversee checklist for each show, ensuring all items are assigned and completed.
  • Ensure company website has current and relevant information for assigned shows.
  • Determine and organize events as it relates to project (opening ceremonies, evening receptions, business briefings, etc.).
  • Responsible for internal (Management) and external (Organizer) reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

• Comprehensive knowledge of Tradeshow Industry

• Past experience with selling or managing tradeshows

• Knowledge of industry in which assigned shows operate (not required upon hire, will need to learn)

• International Travel is required

• Ability to exercise excellent judgment and discretion

• Strong communicator, both oral and written. Multi-tasking ability is essential

• Ability to work in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Outlook and Excel (database exp. a plus)

• Excellent interpersonal skills for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships

• Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Business, Marketing or International Studies

• Minimum of three years related experience.

• Some formal education in project management is desirable
