Kallman Worldwide to Help American Industry Capitalize on Defense Modernization in Poland During MSPO 2017

U.S. International Pavilion promotes partnership to support Polish defense strategies, equipment needs

KIELCE, Poland and WALDWICK, N.J./ January 25, 2017 — U.S. aerospace and defense companies looking to capitalize on an increasingly dynamic defense and security environment in eastern Europe are turning their sights toward MSPO 2017, the International Defence Industry Exhibition, to get closer to buyers and decision-makers involved in the modernization of Poland’s defense forces.

MSPO, Europe’s third-largest defense industry trade show, is an annual event organized by the Ministry of National Defence (MND) through Targi Kielce in partnership with government and private sector stakeholders to promote the Polish defense and securities economy. The event will be held September 5-8 on a combined 100,000-plus sqm of indoor and outdoor exhibit space at Targi Kielce Exhibition & Congress Centre in Kielce, Poland.

To help introduce more American companies to this influential and growing marketplace, show organizers have contracted Kallman Worldwide to represent MSPO 2017 in the United States, and to organize the U.S. presence at next year’s event. Kallman’s 500 sqm U.S. International Pavilion will be America’s headquarters at the show: a destination for buyers looking for an efficient way to meet a critical mass of U.S. suppliers, an on-site business hub for U.S. exhibitors looking to maximize their exposure and time at the event, and a forum for all to share ideas and insights.

With national defense budgets forecast to rise from 2% of GDP today to 2.5% by 2030, and the prospect of a new defense procurement agency being established by MND next year, there is a growing opportunity for American suppliers to help Poland broadly upgrade its land, sea and air forces, particularly its long- and short-range weapons systems, platforms and command-and-control infrastructure.

“In the face of a resurgent Russia and more nuanced political shifts across Europe, it’s widely acknowledged that Poland is long overdue to strengthen its national defenses, and that this modernization effort could more broadly benefit the country’s entire industrial base,” said Kallman Worldwide President and CEO Tom Kallman. “We are proud to represent MSPO in America because our nation’s aerospace and defense suppliers can help Poland in many ways: as prime contractors or subcontractors in support of Polish manufacturers, service partners and their end-user customers.”

In 2016, MSPO hosted 609 exhibitors and more than 20,000 trade attendees, including 60 delegations. Organizers expect to boost those numbers in 2017 with new exhibit areas and the expansion of professional conference sessions focused on global growth topics such as unmanned aerial vehicles, safety, security, and space and satellite technology.

“As Poland embarks on this major military modernization plan, it is important for our nation’s defense decision-makers to have access to the best equipment, products and services in the world,” said Katarzyna Prostak, Director, Group of Projects, Trade Fairs Department at TargiKielce. “MSPO is established as the premier marketplace in the region for military buyers and suppliers. We are excited and confident that the addition of the U.S. International Pavilion organized by Kallman Worldwide will ensure increased U.S. participation at MSPO, and a corresponding interest in U.S. suppliers among our attendees.”

In addition to organizing the national Pavilion, Kallman Worldwide will invite show attendees to visit U.S. exhibitors at MSPO with its “Ask America” advocacy campaign. The message will be placed prominently on-site, integrated into hospitality and VIP events during the show, and highlighted in social media (follow on Twitter @kallmanEWC).

“Connecting U.S. suppliers with buyers from around the world is what makes the Pavilion a distinct destination,” Kallman said. “That’s why our message to visitors at MSPO is, ‘Ask America,’ because we’re listening. The United States is committed to our overseas partners and investments, we bring the smartest ideas and innovation to the table, and we have the best-skilled professionals ready to do the work.”
