At EXPODEFENSA 2017, The United States Is Pitching Innovation & Partnership

USA Partnership Pavilion at Expodefensa 2017
  • NEW USA Partnership Pavilion features 21 companies from 11 states including VA state pavilion
  • Cross-section of leading OEMs, SMEs affirms nation’s commitment to alliances in Latin and South America

Bogota, Colombia and Waldwick, N.J. / December 4, 2017 — Defense and security companies from the United States are looking to strengthen partnerships with buyers and influencers across Latin and South America this week at Expodefensa 2017. The biennial industry event, the most comprehensive of its type in the region, is expected to draw more than 10,000 trade visitors from nearly 30 countries, December 4-6 in Bogota, Colombia.

More than 20 U.S. companies are exhibiting a wide range of innovative technologies, equipment and services at the event in the new USA Partnership Pavilion, organized by Kallman Worldwide, Inc., in coordination with government agencies, including the U.S. departments of Commerce, Defense and State. The cross-section of leading manufacturers and suppliers in the Pavilion includes Bell Helicopter [NYSE: TXT], Harris Corp. [NYSE HRS], Raytheon [NYSE: RTN], and Sikorsky (a Lockheed Martin Company [NYSE: LM]).

Kallman has organized U.S. companies at Expodefensa since 2012. This is its first under the new “Partnership Pavilion” banner, which company President and CEO Tom Kallman says reflects an important trend in global trade.

“Now more than ever, success in international trade depends on partnership and teamwork,” said Kallman. “Entering our fourth edition of Expodefensa — and our third decade of organizing exhibitors at trade events in Latin and South America — the new USA Partnership Pavilion sharpens our focus on helping advance national interests and security by building stronger relationships between the U.S. and its international customers. Many of our exhibitors — from publicly traded original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with fewer than 500 employees — already have significant business partnerships and operations in the region. In the years to come, many more will.”

Exhibitors in the Pavilion represent 11 states, all looking to generate new business and create more jobs back home by growing exports, expanding in-region operations and/or recruiting overseas partners to establish or participate in U.S.-based operations. Notably, the state of Virginia, through its Economic Development Partnership, is organizing its own state-branded pavilion — featuring state-based co-exhibitors — within the larger U.S. space.

In addition to space on site, USA Partnership Pavilion exhibitors are featured in Kallman’s online Expodefensa 2017 Visitor Zone at kallman.com/expodefensa-2017. The Visitor Zone features a centerpiece searchable Pavilion directory, plus interactive tools to connect interested industry professionals around the world to the show, even if they can’t go.
