More than 50 US exhibitors at Milipol Asia-Pacific 2017 will showcase equipment and commitment to ASEAN allies next week in Singapore
Singapore and Waldwick, N.J. / March 28, 2017 — Against a backdrop of internal and cross-border security tensions, shifting geo-political alliances and a rising tide of military modernization across Southeast Asia, U.S. manufacturers and suppliers will look to grow their share of ASEAN region defense and security budgets during Milipol Asia-Pacific 2017 (incorporating Global Security Asia), April 4-6 in Singapore.
With more than 50 exhibitors, the United States will be among the event’s largest international contingents, a strong indicator of how important the region is to the American defense and security business, and that nations throughout the region are likewise interested in working with U.S. companies to further their defense, security and economic goals.
The U.S. presence, featuring a wide range of innovative equipment, technologies, products and services, is organized by Kallman Worldwide, Inc., the designated U.S. representative of the show, in coordination with numerous government agencies, including the departments of Commerce, Defense and State. America’s headquarters at the show will be the U.S. International Pavilion: a destination for buyers looking for an efficient way to meet more U.S. suppliers, an on-site business hub for U.S. exhibitors looking to maximize their exposure and time at the event, and a forum for all to share ideas and insights.
“U.S. companies are exhibiting at Milipol Asia-Pacific 2017 because defense and security budgets throughout the region are growing and this event attracts a lot of qualified business prospects and customers,” said Kallman Worldwide President and CEO, Tom Kallman. “As a long-time organizer of the U.S. presence at Milipol Paris and Qatar, our team is proud to add the new Milipol Asia-Pacific 2017 to our portfolio to further strengthen America’s bilateral defense and economic partnerships around the world.”
Exhibitors in the Pavilion represent a cross-section of leading American defense and security suppliers, including multi-company stands representing the states of Maryland and North Carolina, all working to initiate or strengthen international partnerships that will lead to revenue and job growth back home. For example, Baltimore-based United World Technologies (UWT), a first-time exhibitor that specializes in introducing its U.S. client companies to overseas markets, is looking to leverage success in other parts of the world, notably the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), to forge similar connections in Asia.
“U.S. technology companies are the backbone of defense and security solutions for enterprises around the world,” said UWT President Paula Kipperman. “At Milipol Asia-Pacific 2017, we will take a step forward in extending our service model to present our innovative partner companies from the United States as resources for information technology, healthcare, banking, energy, and telecommunications businesses throughout the ASEAN region.”

In addition to organizing and managing the national Pavilion, Kallman will roll out its “Ask America” advocacy campaign inviting show attendees to visit U.S. exhibitors. The “Ask America” message will be placed prominently on site, integrated into hospitality and VIP events during the show, and promoted in social media (follow on Twitter @kallmanEWC).
“The United States is one of the biggest international exhibitors at Milipol Asia-Pacific 2017 because it’s one of the world's biggest defense and security suppliers, but that’s no guarantee buyers will look to work with U.S. companies over others,” said Kallman. “On behalf of the U.S. International Pavilion, we have a responsibility to advocate not only for our exhibitors, but for our country in this highly competitive global marketplace.
“We invite every Milipol Asia-Pacific 2017 visitor to, “Ask America,” because we are listening,” he said. “Whether as a manufacturing, supply chain or service partner, the United States is committed to trade and investment in Southeast Asia, we bring smart ideas to the table and we have the best-skilled workforce ready to do the job.”
