Innovation and inspiration drive Indo Pacific day two

Day two of Indo Pacific 2025 built on the strong momentum of the opening day, with even larger crowds, packed conference sessions, and a steady stream of announcements underscoring Australia’s role at the forefront of maritime and defence innovation.

Across the halls of Sydney’s International Convention Centre, industry, government, and academia came together for another full day of technology launches, strategic agreements, and thought leadership sessions. Nearly 10,000 visitors streamed through the exhibition floor as exhibitors showcased breakthroughs in uncrewed systems, cyber resilience, and next-generation shipbuilding.

Among the day’s highlights was the Astronaut Al Worden Endeavour Scholarship ceremony, celebrating six outstanding Australians selected as Mission Team #29. The five secondary students and one STEM educator were presented with their symbolic space jackets by the deputy chief of navy, Rear Admiral Matthew Buckley, recognising their upcoming journey to Space Camp USA in July 2026.
