APOLLO 15 COMMAND MODULE PILOT COL. AL WORDEN (USAF-Ret.) VISITS RIAT (12-14 July)

Although he has been to the moon, this will be Col. Worden’s first trip to RIAT. During Col. Worden’s
two-day schedule at RIAT, he will visit with industry leaders and their guests during the flying displays, he will be featured alongside the Red Arrow engineers in the show’s “Techno Zone” showcase for student-led science initiatives, and he’ll be a guest judge in the Junior Engineer Competition.

The day before RIAT opens, Col. Worden will visit several area high schools and a technical university to promote science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education. His extraordinary lifetime
accomplishments and “down-to-earth” personality make Col. Worden an ideal goodwill ambassador for the U.S. and an inspirational advocate for the aerospace workforce.   We are looking for corporate supporters who not only share “Al’s” passion for STEM, but who might also enjoy spending time with one of the 14 remaining men on earth who have been to the moon and back.

U.S. DEDICATION TO WWI HEROES AT BROOKWOOD AMERICAN CEMETERY AND MEMORIAL (15 July)

Brookwood is an American Battlefield Memorial Commission (ABMC) managed cemetery located between Farnborough and London. On the Sunday afternoon before the opening of the Farnborough Airshow, Kallman Worldwide will lead American government, military and industry leaders, including Congressional delegates, to attend a private memorial service honoring the heroism and ultimate sacrifice of the 476 WWI U.S. servicemen and women interred here.

Red “Buddy” poppies, long a symbol of the war, will be handed out to all participants to wear in memoriam during the show week. The poppy symbol will also be incorporated into the USA Partnership Pavilion logo on-site at Farnborough as an additional tribute to the sacrifices made by so many for the freedoms we enjoy today.

USA PARTNERSHIP PAVILION OPENING CEREMONY AND TRIBUTE TO THE RAF100 (16 JULY 3:00pm local)

On Monday afternoon, July 16, opening day of the Farnborough Airshow, Kallman Worldwide and the USA Partnership Pavilion will host a VIP tribute to the Royal Air Force in honor of the service’s 100th
Anniversary during our traditional Opening Ceremonies and Ribbon Cutting.

In addition to welcoming remarks from U.S. military, government and elected officials, the centerpiece of the event will be the presentation to RAF leaders of an American flag flown to the Moon and back on Apollo 15, signed by Col. Worden, who will also participate in the ceremony.

We have purposefully scheduled the proceedings in the afternoon to dovetail with Farnborough’s evening VIP reception, which for the first time will be held this year on the airshow grounds. By design, the USA Partnership Pavilion Opening Ceremony will transition into an extended afternoon networking event for U.S. and UK industry to celebrate all we have achieved together in the past, and all we can accomplish in our next century of cooperation.

TURNKEYS:

DISMANTLE DATES

0700 – 1900 hrs.

How do I obtain a vehicle pass for contractors during Build Up & Dismantle??
Contractor vehicles must enter the site through Gate I. If a vehicle needs access to a certain point in the Site for a delivery they will be issued a delivery pass at the gate and allocated a time slot to complete the delivery or collection.

Can we park on site during build up?
Yes, exhibitors visiting the Site in the period of 2nd July to Sunday 15th July 2018 should enter Site via Gate A provided that all vehicle occupants are in possession of a valid pass. Exhibitors arriving without a pass should report to the pass office adjacent to Gate A to register and collect the appropriate pass. Vehicles entering the Site through Gate A will be directed by traffic marshals to park in car park 1.

What is the unloading process during build up?
To ensure the smooth delivery/removal of exhibits, the official freight agent will operate a construction/dismantling schedule during the construction and dismantling periods. All vehicles must enter the Site through Gate I and timed slots will be allocated as close as possible to the preferred delivery/collection dates and times. These delivery arrangements apply to both official and non-official contractors.

All delivery drivers visiting the Site must be in possession of a valid delivery ticket together with proof of identity (a valid passport or driving license). A photographic record of their visit to Site will be taken and retained for security purposes.
NOTE: To avoid unnecessary delays, Exhibitors and contractors making deliveries are advised to give advance notification of intended dates of delivery to the official freight agent.

Is there a safety dress code during build up?
Hi-viz vest and safety boots are to be worn by all contractors and operatives during construction periods and exhibition, build and dismantle periods. Hi-viz equipment must be either yellow or orange. The wearing of safety helmets is mandatory in construction areas. Farnborough advises employers that because of this increase in noise level hearing protection must be made available for their staff.
